5 out of 5 stars Maui Jim Stingray Sunglasses   February 23, 2008

I have always been one to buy only Ray Ban sunglasses. We were recently stuck in Newark International Airport and decided to look at a couple of pair of sunglasses. As usual, I asked the sales rep what they think are the best pair of sunglasses. And yet again, the reply was Maui Jim. I had found a pair of Ray Bans but decided to try on a pair of Maui Jims. I immediatetly could tell the extra $40 would be well spent. First, the frame is well made; the lenses are polarized and made from glass; and the arms of the sunglasses are designed to expand slightly so to get around my big head then adjusted to fit nicely. I actually felt guilty at considering buying them at $199 since I was already committed to buying my wife the same pair in brown. When the sales rep told me they are made in Hawaii - I was sold. I did note the frames were made in Italy but I nonetheless was happy since they were not made in China. If anything, just try any Maui Jim pair of sunglasses and see the difference.
